This seminar is being organised in response to the major social issue of holiday hunger and its links to children’s wellbeing, learning and attainment.
The seminar will look at:
• The link between food and attainment in children
• The importance of school meals in the context of education, inclusion, health and wellbeing
• Tackling holiday hunger through a multi-agency approach
Our Keynote speaker will be Professor Margaret Defeyter, Director of Healthy Living at the University of Northumbria. She will share new evidence around ‘holiday hunger’ and ‘holiday learning loss’, and successful interventions to tackle these issues. It will take place on Thursday 19th October, 2017 from 9am - 1pm in the Long Gallery, Parliament Buildings.
