CiNI aims to influence the policy development and policy cycle agenda to ensure children are at the centre of the decision making process in Northern Ireland.

All Party Group on Children & Young People

CiNI are the Secretariat to the All Party Group on Children and Young People. The Group provides a forum to enable cross party discussion and co-operation on issues affecting children and young people.

Calls to Action Campaign

Children and young people must be accorded greater priority and made more visible in all levels of government policy and planning. CiNI are calling for a Statutory Duty to Co-operate among Government Departments and Children’s Budgeting.

Day of Reflection

CiNI believe that children and young people living in Northern Ireland should be considered as peacemakers and peace builders and must be empowered and encouraged to participate both in dialogue and in the shaping of peace building initiatives.

Children are Unbeatable Campaign

CiNI are part of the UK-wide Children are unbeatable! Alliance which campaigns for a change to the law to give children and young people the same legal protection from being hit as adults, by removing the defence of ‘reasonable punishment’.
