This a 2 Day course delivered face to face. You will need to attend both sessions. If you are not able to attend both days in full – please do not book!

Wed 13th November, Day 1 (10am- 4pm)

Thurs 14th November, Day 2 (10am- 4pm)

This 2 Day workshop is aimed at team leaders and staff who have responsibility for the supervision of others practice. It will give participants the opportunity to understand the principles and purpose of supervision in learning, support, performance management, problem solving and good governance.

Participants will also be encouraged to explore the factors which contribute to poor performance, review their own level of competence and set goals for future development of their supervising skills.

This workshop will explore from the Supervisor’s perspective:

  • The role, purpose and definition of supervision
  • Contracts and structures of supervision
  • Supervision as a learning tool
  • Reflective practice in supervision
  • Problem solving in supervision
  • A theoretical context of supervision
  • Exploration of effective supervisory skills and methods
  • Management of change through supervision

Important Information:

  • Our funding restrictions are such that this training is only available to those who work/volunteer for a voluntary, charitable, faith or community-based organisation. Please ensure you meet this criteria before applying.
  • This is a 2 full day, face to face, course at our premises in the business park – 40 Montgomery Road, Belfast, BT6 9HL (above Podium for Sport). Please note we do not provide lunch (just tea, coffee & biscuits). You can bring your own packed lunch or pre-order food at the café downstairs (now called EJ’s Café). There is also a Lidl at the Castlereagh end of the street. Parking is free and the nearest bus is Metro 6A on Cregagh Rd
  • While this is a free training event and places are limited and in high demand – if you cannot attend, we urge you to get in contact so another can take up your place.
