Supporting School Based Anxiety

This half day workshop explores causes of school-based anxiety and practical ways to support a child, young person, carer or parent with the emotions and behaviours associated with such.
Using a family-centered approach, you will learn more about triggers for school-based anxiety and school avoidance and practical strategies to offer families experiencing such. The training is suitable for those supporting families with children aged 4 – 18 years.
What you’ll learn:
- The connection between triggers, emotions and behaviours which may result in school-based anxiety and/or school avoidance.
- Practical strategies to support children and their families who are experiencing school-based anxiety and/or school avoidance.
Who is it for?
Those supporting families who have a child who is experiencing behaviours associated with anxiety in an educational context (aged 4 – 18 years).
Please note this workshop is not aimed at the parents of children who are experiencing school based anxiety – if you are a parent and require assistance with this issue please contact Parentline on 0808 8020 400.

Cost: This course is charged at £65 per person for non-members OR £50 for members of CiNI.
Certification: Attendees will receive an attendance certificate plus a copy of relevant teaching slides for your personal reference.
About the trainer:
Susan Wallace holds a Masters in Education (University of Cambridge) and a Masters in Social Work. She has 20 years’ experience supporting children and their families. She has a particular interest in the emotional well-being of children and their mental health, and vast experience of delivering therapeutic work in relation to that cohort.
