Children in Northern Ireland (CiNI) and Parentline NI launch a week-long celebration of parenting, wellbeing, and connection.

Children in Northern Ireland (CiNI), through its Parentline NI service, is proud to launch Parenting Week 2025 (Monday 20 – Friday 24 October 2025) — a week dedicated to celebrating and supporting parents and carers across Northern Ireland.

This year’s theme, “Parent Well,” encourages parents to look after their own wellbeing as an essential part of caring for their children. It highlights the importance of pausing, taking a breath, and recognising that when parents take time to look after themselves, the whole family benefits.

Throughout the week, Parentline NI and CiNI will be sharing tips, resources and stories that promote calm, confidence and connection in parenting. The week will also feature events and workshops designed to support positive mental health and family wellbeing — including the Parentline Parenting Week “Ask the Expert” event at Allstate NI on Thursday 23 October.

At this free event, parents and carers can access expert advice on sleep, behaviour, neurodiversity, anxiety, and general parenting challenges, as well as practical tips for managing the everyday stresses of family life.

Natalie Whelehan, Chief Executive, Children in Northern Ireland (CiNI), said:

“Parenting Week is about celebrating the vital role that parents and carers play, while also reminding them that their wellbeing matters too. The theme ‘Parent Well’ recognises that when parents take time to care for themselves — even in small ways — it strengthens the whole family. Through Parentline NI, we’re proud to offer practical support and a listening ear to help parents feel calmer, more confident and connected.”

June Onyekwelu, Parentline’s Head of Service, said:

“Parenting can be joyful and fulfilling, but it can also be exhausting and overwhelming. ‘Parent Well’ is about reminding parents that taking care of their own wellbeing isn’t selfish — it’s essential. A calmer parent means a calmer home, and we want every parent to know that support is always available through Parentline NI.”

Parents can download the Parenting Week 2025 Guide, filled with wellbeing ideas and practical ways to “Parent Well,” here.
