An exciting CiNI project has emerged from the experiences and challenges of adjusting to the new virtual world during COVID
One of CiNI’s key strategic priorities is sustainability and future proofing the children’s sector which has been brought into sharp focus over the past 18 months.
COVID restrictions have resulted in us needing to employ digital methods to gather evidence, consult on policy, engage with our members and to move our learning & development programme online.
Our previous ways of engaging members and community have focused on traditional, well-tried methods of face-to-face meetings, training in groups at its office, research focus groups, small meetings and 1-to-1 interviews gathering evidence.
We know, though, that much more could be achieved if new digital innovations were incorporated into our working systems and so we are delighted to have recently been successful in securing Dormant Accounts funding from The National Lottery Community Fund NI for our new Digital Transformation project.
The funding will be used to increase our digital capacity to engage more effectively with our members, children young people and parents.
The Digital Transformation project will also focus on developing digital tools which will allow us to communicate more effectively with more people and increase our information sharing capacity with government to build a better society for all.
Through the use of a range of exciting digital communications with our constituent groups, we will be better informed about their needs and be able to engage with a wider audience, including those who are hard to reach. This will ensure that we are better able to meet the needs of our users, making sure that CiNI’s work is future-proofed, while contributing to the sustainability of the community and voluntary sector by cascading our learning.
Roger Gowdy, CiNI’s Office Manager and in-house tech guru, is looking forward to kick-starting CiNI’s new digital transformation project ASAP:
“We’re excited to start using new tools and developing new skills to engage more effectively with our members, children, young people and parents and look forward to sharing our learning to help build capacity, resilience and sustainability for the children’s sector.”
